Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

An irregularly shaped pit, circa 60m long by 30m wide, is visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The visible earthwork does not directly correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the available 19th century mapping, although a structure, possible earthwork and access track associated with Wolborough Brake powder magazine (MDV38608) are shown in this location. The earthwork is interpreted as a post-medieval or early to mid-19th century quarry which had likely passed out of use prior to construction of the powder magazine during the second half of the 19th century. The earthwork is not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover.
