Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (AI&M) (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Parallel ridges were visible as north-west to south-east aligned earthworks under moderate tree cover on aerial photographs of 1949. The closely spaced banks are on average 4 metres wide and are aligned across a gentle south-west facing slope. They are interpreted as banks made to enhance drainage and provide additional depth of soil within an orchard.
The plot in which the banks are visible is depicted as an orchard on the Ordnance Survey 25-inch first edition map. The banks were therefore probably created prior to circa 1880.
The plot remains lightly planted with trees on images derived from aerial photographs of 2015 and the banks remain visible as subtle earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.
