Linear and curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The visible earthworks, which occupy an area of circa 2 hectares of moderate southeast facing slope, are typically northeast to southwest and northwest to southeast aligned and define a number of rectilinear land parcels. Several of the earthworks correspond with field boundaries shown on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, although the majority of earthworks are not shown on this map, or on later available historic maps, supporting the interpretation that they had passed out of use by this time. The field boundaries are interpreted as being of possible medieval origin. Much of this area is covered with subtle earthwork hollows of likely geological origin which are clearly visible on lidar-derived images, but which mask the clarity of the possible field boundaries. Given this, it is therefore possible that some elements of the transcribed earthworks are similarly of natural origin, or that the field boundaries are more extensive than has been recorded.
