A possible rectilinear enclosure is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards as cropmark and earthwork ditches on the gentle north-east facing slopes south of Blatchford Brook. The visible ditches are 3 to 5m broad and enclose a rectilinear area circa 47m by 40m in size.
The low-lying plot in which the earthworks are visible is crossed by drainage ditches of probably 19th century date. One such ditch, depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map, coincides with the northern edge of the possible enclosure.
This might support the interpretation that possible enclosure ditches are simply part of the 19th century drainage system.
Alternatively, ditches of prehistoric date are recorded in this plot and it is possible that the 19th century drainage system exploited the extant earthworks of a potentially significantly earlier enclosure.
Further work is recommended to clarify the character of the earthworks,
