Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Linear banks and ditches are visible on aerial photographs of 1950 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 as earthworks crossing the contours of the west facing slopes North of St Mary’s Church, Wolborough, Newton Abbot.
The visible earthworks correspond with field boundaries depicted on the Tithe map for Wolborough, but not the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch map. The boundaries were probably therefore removed between circa 1840 and 1880.
The relict boundaries display both curvilinear and very straight elements which might support the interpretation of both medieval and post-medieval components within the former field pattern.
