Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2018-2019, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 1, Haldon Ridge to Dart Valley (AI&M) (Interpretation). SDV361305.

Cropmarks which have formed over a linear ditch, circa 3m wide and north to south aligned, are visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2018. The ditch has a clear and deliberate break, circa 3.5m wide, towards its southern extent. It does not correspond with any linear features shown on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, although is crossed by a field boundary towards the north, nor is not in keeping the historic field patterns in this location which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. The cropmark ditch is therefore interpreted as being of potential prehistoric or Romano-British date and may form the edge of an enclosure, with entranceway. A number of enclosures recorded in proximity to the east and south adds some support to this interpretation.
