This single-storey block was built across the north side of the new yard between 1890 and 1905 (Fig.34). It is called the Concrete Shed because its last use was for making concrete formers. Its original purpose is not known. The 1905 OS map appears to depict an openfronted shed. The south front is now infilled but it preserves a series of original plain cast-iron posts producing five bays. The rear wall is a timber frame sitting on stone rubble footings. The bay-wide panels are filled with brick and each bay includes a small opening under the wall plate. The roof is tiled with an angular version of the Roman tile. The roof was inaccessible at the time of survey but the tie beams are exposed below ceiling level. As described above it has been extended west into the lower level of the adjacent store.
