Full description

Marshall, D., 2018, Record of a cup marked stone near Davytown (Correspondence). SDV362973.

Image of the cup marked stone, previously unrecorded, which was reported to the Newquay Old Cornwall Society in October 2018. Given the approximate grid reference of SX55254 73055; this requires confirmation.
This appears to be a well-preserved example of a rare type of feature for Dartmoor; only a handful of other possible examples are known of (citing DNPA Archaeologist).

Bray, L., 2019, Worked stone near Davytown (Personal Comment). SDV363008.

Site visited and type has been redefined; does not appear to be a cup marked stone, rather more likely to represent the results of trial stone working. May not be in-situ.
