A concrete block visible in the east bank of the river is thought to be connected with the Taunton Stop Line defences; possible anti-tank cubes are visible on the RAF aerial photo on the east bank of the River Axe immediately downstream of Nunford Bridge. The bridge was washed away in a flood and replaced by another to the north.
