Name:Hut circle south of Down Tor, Walkhampton

Summary

A total of five hut circles have now been identified on the exposed, boulder-covered hillslope below Down Tor. Two newly discovered huts lie lower down the slope to the other three at SX5785 6913 and SX5793 6910. They are both sub-oval with boulder-stone walls on average 0.5 metres high and with an entrance in the south-east side (see also MDV125788).

A total of five hut circles have now been identified on the exposed, boulder-covered hillslope below Down Tor.
Two newly discovered huts lie lower down the slope to the other three at SX5785 6913 and SX5793 6910. They are both sub-oval with boulder-stone walls on average 0.5 metres high and with an entrance in the south-east side. Surveyed at 1:2500 scale (citing Fletcher, M., 06/01/2008, English Heritage Field Investigators Comments).
