A bank is visible as a recently excavated earthwork.

Smith, K., 1980, Typescript notes and plan of Shaugh Moor (Un-published). SDV138646.

There is an incomplete enclosure north-west of the main enclosure. It comprises a ruinous arc of walling associated with three hut circles.
The south-western hut is 6.0 metres in internal diameter and is also attached to the enclosure wall with a south-facing entrance. The liners of the inner wall face are fairly well-preserved.

Fletcher, M. + Probert, S., 1998, Shaugh Moor, Devon: An Archaeological Survey (Report - Survey). SDV343481.

(Visited 03/12/1997) To the north-west of the complete enclosure, an `annex' comprises three hut circles each linked by a curvilinear boulder/stone wall.
(Visited 03/12/1997) SX55916351. This hut measures 8.2 metres in diameter with a level interior some 6.0 metres (north-south) by 5.3 metres. The wall comprises a ring of inner facing slabs, on average 0.5 metres high with an outer facing of low earth-fast boulders retaining a stone/boulder core. It has been disturbed and the entrance was located either in the north-east or south-west.

A stony bank is visible as an oval earthwork.

Visited 08/09/2019. The site description is good with no noted change. Although the hut is covered by 90% bracken, no damage is being caused and the site is very stable. Photo taken

A bank up to circa 2.5m wide is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, defining a roughly circular hollow or terrace approximately 6m across. A line of stonework is visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2016 on the inner face of this bank.
This circular structure is interpreted as the remains of a hut circle of Bronze Age date, one of three incorporated into the perimeter bank of an oval enclosure on the north-facing slopes of Shaugh Moor (MDV127096).
Despite the low resolution of the available data, the hut circle remains identifiable as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013.
