A stony bank on average circa 1.3m wide is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards, enclosing a roughly circular hollow or terrace up to circa 4m across.
The circular feature is interpreted as the remains of a hut circle of Bronze Age date, one of two incorporated into the perimeter bank of an irregularly shaped hut circle settlement on the north-facing slopes of Shaugh Moor (MDV12779).
The banks are identifiable only as fragmentary earthworks on visualisations derived from low resolution lidar data captured in 2013.
