Full description

Hulland, C., 1980, Untitled Source, 137-141 (Article in Serial). SDV50847.

Detailed account of the farmhouse. A three room cross-passage house with a barn adjoining the western end. The roof structure is of mixed types, and part of a mutilated end cruck survives. Hulland suggests a possible date of circa 1400 for the house, with modifications in 17th century (when the hall was ceiled) and the 19th century.

Alcock, N. W., 1981, Cruck Construction: An Introduction and Catalogue, 108 (Report - non-specific). SDV342504.

True cruck and jointed cruck recorded (citing Hulland).

Cox, J., 2006, A Source of Information about Farm Buildings, 16 (Article in Serial). SDV354883.

The Field Book for Morchard Bishop from the 1910-1915 land survey records that Middle Aish, a small tenanted farm of just 13 acres, had five farm buildings. Both these and the farmhouse were thatched.

Ordnance Survey, 2021, MasterMap 2021 (Cartographic). SDV364015.

Middle Aish marked.
