Sub-oval and irregularly shaped pits are visible as earthworks.

Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2019-2020, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 2, Avon Valley to Plymouth (AI&M, formerly NMP) (Interpretation). SDV362982.

Sub-oval and irregularly shaped pits, between 15-21m long, are visible as earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the available 19th century mapping, although an earthwork labelled as ‘Quarry’ is shown to the east on the late 19th century First Edition Ordnance Survey map and recorded as MDV45479. This supports the interpretation that the earthworks represent possible post-medieval or 19th century quarries which had passed out of use by the late 19th century.
