A rectilinear earthwork bank, circa 18 metres by 19 metres, is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946, approximately 200 metres to the south-west of Harrowbeer airfield (MDV55691). Three sides are visible, with the east side possibly formed by an extant field boundary. The north, west and east sides are approximately 5.5 metres wide, with an irregular interior edge that could indicate internal recesses. Its size and form suggest that it could have been the embankment around a light anti-aircraft battery associated with the Second World War airfield, with access perhaps at the junction with the field boundary and ammunition lockers indicated by the recesses. The earthworks are not visible on later available imagery and appear to have been levelled soon after the war ended.
