A double row of posts, at least 200 metres long, is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1928. They predate the Second World War airfield, and were presumably removed during its construction, if not before. Their function and exact date of origin is not clear, and although each supports an opaque rectangular structure, they do not look like typical telegraph poles. There were very few control points so the transcription is very approximate and the spacing and alignment is skewed.
