Linear and curvilinear banks, circa 6m wide and mostly north to south and east to west aligned, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. With exception of a short section of bank to the southeast, the earthworks do not correspond with any curvilinear or linear features shown on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps. The earthworks are, however, in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location, which is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. The earthworks are therefore interpreted as relict field boundaries of potential medieval, or post-medieval, date which had almost completely passed out of use by the mid-19th century. Some caution should, however, be exercised regarding the origin of the more sinuous earthworks located at circa SX61605301 and SX61525360 which may be associated with modern drainage.
