Summary

A catch meadow of possible post-medieval to early 20th century date is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as narrow earthwork ditches on the south-east facing slopes east of Fursdon. The earthworks remain visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.

A catch meadow is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as a series of roughly parallel curvilinear earthworks ditches closely following the contours of the south-east facing slopes east of Fursdon.
The catch meadow was possibly of post-medieval to early 20th century date and might have been associated with the medieval or post-medieval farmstead of Buccamore to the north-west (MDV1792). The catch meadow might have been supplied from a pond in the garden south of Buccamore Farmhouse, as depicted on 19th and early-20th century maps.
The gutters remain identifiable as subtle earthworks visible on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017
