The visible earthworks correspond with field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Plympton St Mary.

Linear banks up to circa 3m wide are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 on the south-facing slopes east of Fursdon.
The visible earthworks correspond with field boundaries depicted separating plots 709, 711 and 712 on the Tithe Map for Plympton St Mary. The boundaries are not depicted on the Ordnance Survey 1880s 25inch First Edition map and were therefore probably removed from use between the 1840s and 1880s.
The banks remain visible as subtle earthworks on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.
