Two linear banks circa 3m wide are visible within Newnham Park on aerial photographs of 1946 and 1951. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the 19th or early 20th century maps available to the survey but do correspond closely with the edge of Long Plantation.
The banks are interpreted as the remains of plantation boundaries of post-medieval to 19th century date.
The earthworks are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 and probably survive as fragmentary earthworks under dense tree cover.
