A pit is identifiable as an earthwork.

A roughly circular pit or hollow circa 20m in diameter is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017 on the south-east facing slopes south of Southwood House, Sparkwell.
The earthwork does not correspond with any pit depicted on the 19th or early 20th century maps available to the survey.
It is interpreted as a possible extractive pit potentially of post-medieval to 19th century date that had ceased to be used prior to the late-19th century.
