A bank circa 4m wide and 140 long is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 on the north-west facing slope north of Collaford Farm Business Park, Sparkwell.
The visible earthwork corresponds with a boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Plympton St Mary, but not the Ordnance Survey 1880s 25inch First Edition map.
The bank remains partly identifiable as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017.
The earthwork is interpreted as evidence of a field boundary of possible medieval to 19th century date that was removed between circa 1840 and 1880.
