POLWHELE, DESCRIBING ? PRE-19C CHAPEL, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV114259.

Upex chapel is converted into two dwellings for poor people. Remains of gothic windows exist, the eastern one being very handsome (polwhele, describing ? pre-19c chapel).

Chapel dates from c.1300. For long desecrated and used as a cottage, it has been admirably restored as a chapel of ease. Walls, w window, piscina + s doorway are original and good (nmr citing western antiquary).

Undivided nave + chancel. Windows 13c but everything is very cleanly restored (nmr citing pevsner).
