A mound is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards and visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, as an earthwork approximately 18m long and 7m wide on the west-facing combe slopes south of Langage.
The date and function of the mound are unknown. However, the earthwork falls within the known shape and size range for pillow mounds, although the characteristic outer ditch has not been noted in this instance, and is interpreted as possible evidence of rabbit farming of post-medieval to 19th century date.
