Name:Pair of disturbed hut circles west of Saddle Bridge

Summary

The remains of two very disturbed hut circles lie on the moderate north-east facing slope of Slade Newtake 350 metres west of Saddle Bridge. The eastern hut is marked by a sloping stony platform measuring 5.0 metres north-south by 6.3 metres adjacent to a reave. Apart from a few protruding stones there is no in situ walling and no obvious entrance. The western hut is situated 20 metres to the west and is similar in form though it possesses a more uniform diameter of 5.5 metres. Again there is no obvious entrance.

(10/01/1996) SX 66115 71894 and SX 66093 71896. The remains of two very disturbed hut circles lie on the moderate north-east facing slope of Slade Newtake 350 metres west of Saddle Bridge.
The eastern hut at SX 66115 71894 is marked by a sloping stony platform measuring 5.0 metres north-south by 6.3 metres adjacent to a reave (part of SX 67 SE 95). Apart from a few protruding stones there is no in situ walling and no obvious entrance.
The western hut is situated 20 metres to the west at SX 66093 71896 and is similar in form though it possesses a more uniform diameter of 5.5 metres. Again there is no obvious entrance.
