Earthworks of elongated and oval pits and sub-rectilinear mounds are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The earthworks correspond with a single, irregularly shaped feature, circa 90m long by 40m wide, shown on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map. On both the late 19th and early 20th century First and Second Edition maps, this area is shown to largely comprise a copse, with an elongated earthwork and possible pond visible to the west. The nature of the visible earthworks on lidar imagery largely correspond with those features shown on historic maps and they are interpreted as evidence of possible post-medieval or early to mid-19th century quarrying, with associated spoil heaps. The quarry had likely passed out of use by the late 19th century.
