The earthworks do not correspond with any pit features in this location.

Oval and sub-oval pits are visible as earthworks.

Oval and sub-oval pits, between 10m and 22m long, are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic mapping. The earthworks are interpreted as post-medieval or early 19th century extractive pits which had possibly passed out of use by the mid-19th century. The earthworks are not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover.
