Linear and curvilinear earthwork banks and ditches, circa 5m wide and north to south and east to west aligned, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The southern extent of the earthworks corresponds with two field boundaries shown on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map and the remaining earthworks are closely in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location, which is characterised as post-medieval enclosures and as medieval enclosures based on strip fields. The earthworks are therefore interpreted as relict ditch and banked boundaries of a medieval or post-medieval field system which had largely passed out of use by the mid-19th century. These earthworks are possibly, in part, the same as those recorded within MDV59564.
