Parallel earthwork banks, circa 3m wide, are visible on aerial imagery taken in 1946 and 1955. The banks are closely spaced and are aligned across the contours of the northeast facing combe slope, occupying an area of approximately 0.07 hectares. The visible banks correspond with an orchard depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, as well as on late 19th and early 20th century historic maps. It is moderately planted with trees in 1946, although has been almost completely cleared by 1955. An orchard in this location supports the interpretation that the earthworks are the remains of 19th century tree planting banks, the fruit trees having been established on the earthworks for increased soil depth and improved drainage. An additional earthwork bank to the immediate north may represent an associated feature. The earthworks are not clearly visible on the available aerial imagery after 1955 and their survival is uncertain.
