An irregular levelled area, 18 by 5 metres in extent, is visible as an earthwork cut into the slope and appears to be surfaced, on aerial photographs taken between 1945 and 1947. It seems to adjoin the road on the west and appears very clearly on aerial photographs taken in 1945. It is interpreted as hard surfacing for military vehicles associated with the Second World War activity at Staddon Heights.
