Linear earthwork banks, up to 3 metres wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s and partly on visualisations of lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. They are not clearly defined in in the 1940s, not depicted on the Tithe map, and are possibly overlain by Rifle Butts Wall, so probably had a pre-Second World War and pre-19th century origin. They are perpendicular to each other and may once have been connected at their northern ends where the wall now is. The eastern bank runs either side of the head of a combe, and the part south of the combe comprises a double parallel bank, as might be expected of a hollow way.
