A cross-shaped earthwork ditch, up to 10 metres across with ditches approximately 2 metres wide, is visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s. This is an unusual form, and it is tentatively interpreted as a military feature, perhaps a foxhole, associated with the defence of this area in the Second World War. However, it is not particularly clearly defined and could be earlier, perhaps of First World War or 19th century date. It is not clearly visible on more recent aerial imagery and its survival is unknown.
