An octagonal flat-roofed structure, approximately 6 metres across, is visible on aerial photographs taken between 1947 and 1955, in the natural combe slope of Five Acre Brake, just below the earthwork embankment forming the south side of the 19th century military ditch defences. Given its form and location in a heavily fortified area it is likely that it had a military origin and it is tentatively interpreted as a Second World War pillbox. It is not visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946, when the area is vegetation covered, indicating that it might have been heavily camouflaged. It is not visible on recent aerial imagery and its survival is not known.
