A linear hollow terminating in an oval pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946. The hollow is circa 4m wide and 134m long and the pit at the north-west end, probably a quarry or extractive pit, measures circa 18 by 24m in size.
The function of the hollow is unknown, but it is probably associated with the Lee Moor Clay Works.
The linear hollow has probably been destroyed by the expansion of quarries associated with Lee Moor Clay Works but the pit at the north-west end is depicted on the current Ordnance Survey MasterMap layer and might survive as an earthwork.
