A row of small, closely spaced structures, circa 1.5m by 1.5m, is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1947. The structures are situated within Storridge Wood along the north side of the Great Western railway line, extending from the Old Station House in the west, eastwards to a length of circa 235m. The size and form of the structures supports the interpretation that they may represent Second World War anti-tank obstacles. A possible pillbox (MDV126808) recorded circa 130m to the southwest offers some support to this interpretation. The possible anti-tank obstacles are not visible on aerial imagery after 1947 owing to thick tree cover. A site visit is recommended to help establish whether any structures survive here and, if so, to clarify their extent and function.
