Linear and curvilinear banks, between 5m and 8m wide and variously aligned, are visible on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The earthworks occupy an area of circa 13.7 hectares and define a series of rectilinear enclosures. They correspond with land parcels 393 and 414 on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map which are recorded as ‘Storridge Wood’ and ‘Park Plantation’, respectively, on the accompanying Tithe Apportionment. They do not correspond with any linear or curvilinear features on this map, or on later available historic maps, although they are in keeping with the historic field pattern depicted in this location. The earthworks are therefore interpreted as relict field boundaries of a possible medieval field system which had passed out of use by the mid-19th century, by which time woodland had become established here.
