Two irregular earthwork pits, up to circa 41 metres in maximum extent, are visible on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s. One corresponds to a pit depicted with hachures on late-19th century OS mapping. They are interpreted as extractive pits, possibly of post-medieval origin, that went out of use by the late-19th century. They are indistinctly visible on visualisations of lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017, and so are likely to survive as very slight earthworks.
