Two earthwork pits in the grounds of Langdon Court are visible on visualisations of lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. One is within the wooded area of ‘The Rookery’ depicted on the late-19thcentury mapping, and appears to have access tracks leading towards it from the east and west, visible as incised trackways. The other is sited to the west and is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards. They are interpreted as extractive pits, perhaps connected to post-medieval or earlier construction at Langdon or Langdon Court.
