A dark sub-circular cropmark, interpreted as having formed over a buried pit, circa 20m diameter, is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946 and 1962. The cropmark does not correspond with any pit features shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps. It is interpreted as a possible post-medieval or early 19th century extractive pit which had passed out of use by the mid to late 19th century. The area has been developed for housing by 2002.
