An earthwork pit, 23-24 metres in diameter, is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1946 onwards and on visualisations of lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. It is located on a slope, and interpreted as an extractive pit. On the late-19th century mapping the area is depicted as scrubby land on the west side of a dog-leg in a field boundary, indicating that any extraction has ceased by this date.
