Three earthwork pits, circa 8 to 10 metres in diameter, are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1947 in the woodland on Hollacombe Hill. They are very clearly defined and appear as bare earth, and are interpreted as Second World War bomb craters. Two of these, and three additional pits, are visible as slight earthworks on visualisations of lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The additional ones may have dated to earlier in the war, and had become vegetated by 1947.
