Curvilinear ditches are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 and visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 as earthworks up to 5m wide and 115m long, on the south-east facing slopes to the south-west of Lower Collard.
The visible earthworks do not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Shaugh Prior, but the plan of the ditches, defining two rectilinear plots, is in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern, characterised by HLC as based on medieval strip fields.
The ditches are interpreted as the remains of field boundaries of possible medieval date that had been removed by the early 19th century.
