Linear earthwork banks and hollows are visible on aerial photographs of 1946 to 2002 defining rectilinear enclosures obliquely crossing the contours of the north-west facing slopes to the south-west of Bigbury village.
The visible earthworks correspond with field boundaries characterised by Historic Landscape Characterisation as probably of medieval origin, depicted on the Tithe Map for Bibury and the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map. The boundaries have been cleared by 1946.
The former boundaries remain visible as earthworks under pasture on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2002 but have been near levelled by 2007 when the plot has been turned over to crop cultivation.
