An irregularly shaped pit, circa 30m long by 15m wide, is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The earthwork corresponds with one of two structures shown in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map. This structure has, however, been demolished by the time of the late 19th century Ordnance Survey First Edition map, but the remaining structure to the south is still visible and is labelled as Yabbacombe (MDV67116). The earthwork is therefore interpreted as a possible building platform for a medieval or post-medieval structure at Yabbacombe. The earthwork is not visible on other available aerial imagery owing to thick tree cover.
