A curvilinear bank is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 as an earthwork bank 4 to 6m wide and circa 100m long, north of Higher Cumery House.
The bank is interpreted as the remains of a field boundary of medieval date.
The visible earthwork does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Tithe Map for Bigbury and was therefore probably removed prior to the 1840s. The bank bank also appears to be cut by at least 2 catch meadow gutters of probable 19th century date.
The bank was probably partly levelled during the construction of a dwelling in this plot in the second half of the 20th century. The remainder of the bank is not identifiable as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013 and has also probably been levelled.
