The visible earthworks correspond in part with field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Aveton Gifford.

Linear banks are identifiable as earthworks.

North-west to south-east aligned banks up to circa 5m wide and 160m long are identifiable as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013, defining rectilinear enclosures on the north-east facing slopes below Spicerscombe Farm.
The visible earthworks correspond in part with field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Aveton Gifford and are probably the remains of a previously more divided field system of medieval to post-medieval date.
