Full description
Sharpe, A., 2016, Dartmouth Castle, Devon. Conservation Management Plan 2016, Gazetteer No. 7 (Report - Assessment). SDV361934.
Area west of the northern gun platform traditionally known as the landing place. Identified as a small quay for landing supplies for the castle. It is now served by a ferry service from Dartmouth's South Embankment.
The area is shown on the 1840 Tithe Map with two small buildings and referred to as a court and storehouse. Evidence for the buildings still survive.
No archaeological features were recorded during a watching brief for small-scale drainage works in this area in 2005.
