Hegarty, C., Knight, S. and Sims, R., 2019-2021, The South Devon Coast to Dartmoor Aerial Investigation and Mapping Survey. Area 2, Avon Valley to Plymouth (AI&M, formerly NMP) (Interpretation). SDV362982.

An ovoid pit, circa 33m long by 21m wide, is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the mid-19th century Parish Tithe Map, or on later available historic maps. It is therefore interpreted as a possible post-medieval or early 19th century extractive pit which had likely passed out of use by the mid to late-19th century. Some degree of caution should, however, be exercised as it is also possible the earthwork is of natural origin.
