The visible earthworks do not correspond with any pit depicted on the Tithe Map for Ugborough.

A linear hollow is visible as an earthwork.

An earthwork hollow roughly 10m wide and T-shaped in plan is identifiable as an earthwork hollow on the south-facing slopes east of Monksmoor Farm on aerial photographs of 1946 and visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013.
The visible earthwork does not correspond with any feature depicted on the Tithe Map for Ugborough but might be aligned on existing roads or tracks to the west and south-east.
It is interpreted as evidence of a possible former road potentially of medieval to post-medieval date.
