Narrow curvilinear earthwork ditches, less than 2m wide, are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946. The earthwork ditches follow the contours of the northwest facing combe slope and occupy an area of circa 0.28 hectares. They are interpreted as 19th century water channels, possibly of a catch meadow irrigation system which may have tapped a stream located 60m to the west. The earthworks are not visible on the available aerial imagery after 1946 and have possibly since been levelled. Additional water channels (MDV127978) which may be associated with these earthworks are visible on the opposite side of the road to the north.
